Notice
Dear valued readers, the Pi Mai Lao (Lao New Year) holiday this year will last for almost a week, following an announcement by the Prime Minister’s Office stating that the holiday will run from April 15-18. Normally the public holiday last for four days from April 13-16, but this year April 13 and 14 fall on a weekend so the government is awarding April 17 and 18 as holidays in compensation.
Accordingly, the Vientiane Times offices will be closed from April 15-19. The next issue of the Vientiane Times will be published on April 22. The board of management and staff wish all readers a prosperous Pi Mai Lao, and hope that everyone will celebrate BE 2567 Pi Mai Lao responsibly, safely and joyfully. |
