Precise dates for organising these events, which are currently based on the lunar calendar, were being prepared for the international calendar and would be finished soon, Director General of the Tourism Marketing Department, Mr Soun Manivong said.
Those wanting to know precise dates are recommended to visit the official Lao tourism website: www.laotourism.org or follow the committee’s 2018 calendar, which they will produce. Dr Sonexay told the press conference that touring caravans through tourism trails of visitor attractions in northern and southern provinces would be organised.
Domestic and foreign media and tour operators will be invited to participate in trips to tourist attractions to promote the sites and products.

Additional activities prepared for next year’s event include Asean cycling and sightseeing, off-road motorbike racing, off-road car racing, and mountain climbing among others.
