Essay writing contest for students

Students currently enrolled in college and university, with valid student enrollment cards, can apply for an essay writing scholarship. Write a 1,000-word essay about talented women to have a chance to win a US$2,500 cash award for the best candidates. The scholarship has been started with the aim of highlighting the hidden talent of women with the motto “First woman to achieve big”. All the candidates, male/female, can participate but you need to find stories on those women who were the first ones to do certain projects ever.

Cover Dance Contest 4

Young people aged between 12 and 22 years are needed to join the Vientiane Center Dance Contest 4 by Fanglao Dance Company and Vientiane Center. The contestants will get a chance to participate in Cover Dance and All Style Battle categories and win a prize of 10 million kip.

Asean-India research training fellowship

Singapore International Graduate Award

Those wanting to pursue PhD education in Singapore can apply for the Singapore International Graduate Award. The scholarship is open to all international graduates with a passion for research and excellent academic results, good skills in written and spoken English, and good reports from academic referees. Selected students will receive tuition fees, a monthly stipend of S$2,000, which will be increased to S$2,500 after they pass a qualifying examination, air fare and other grants.

Chinese food cooking presentation

The China Cultural Center in Laos has begun airing the self-produced programme “Chinese Food Made by Lao” on its Facebook and Youtube channel. The programme showcases quick and simple Chinese recipes, and the story behind them. The first episode focuses on making rice dumplings, followed by the second episode on cooking Chinese hotpot soup base in a creative way. Participate in its lucky draw simply by leaving comments with your selfie while making the same recipes, and you might be the lucky dog to win a cash bonus or movie tickets.

Dhamma talk workshop

Interested persons can take part in a Dhamma talk workshop, during which they will be trained by many senior and professional speaking monks and ordinary speakers. Participants can learn about techniques and skills for speaking, self-confidence and bravery, building on speaking about Dhamma and other issues. Contemporary photo contest

Photographers are invited to submit photos with the theme “The art of light”. The contest comprises forms of light, people, narrator, and vivo groups. The top prize is 10 million kip. The contest is organised by the Hope Vision Photography and Vientiane Centre.
When: Work collection starts upon the release of this announcement. The deadline for submissions for A/B/C groups is October 20 and the deadline for submission in D (vivo) group is October 31.

Japanese scholarship

Applications have been invited for the Japanese government’s fully funded MEXT Scholarship 2021. The scholarship’s categories include Master’s degree, PhD, undergraduate, college, technology, and specialised training college.

Free occupational training for women

Women aged between 16 and 34 years who are currently not working can apply for a free training course in wig making. Selected participants will join the 40-day course with free accommodation and meals. After training, the participants who graduate will be employed and receive a salary ranging from 1.2 million kip to 3.12 million kip with welfare measures such as training courses.
