Para sports competition

Disabled and able-bodied people are invited to take part in a sports competition to promote health and fitness and enhance relations between disabled people across the country. The competition includes badminton and three other sports.

Young scientist programme

Graduate students in fields related to Public Health and Bioinformatics can apply to the LMI Young Scientist Placement Programme. The selected candidate will spend four weeks on a placement programme in Laos, attend a scientific symposium in Myanmar, and compete for up to US$15,000 in seed funding to help address health challenges in the Lower Mekong region.

Casting for Lao Super Model 2019

Singapore Fair on 8 June 2019

The Singapore Embassy will organise a Singapore Fair in partnership with Singapore Mission School as part of our celebrations to mark the 45th anniversary of Laos-Singapore Relations. There will be Singapore food and products, together with our local partners from Four Seasons Restaurant, Haute and Cold Gelato, LSH International, Global Arts, Sihom Kopitiam, Sinouk Coffee and others. Art competition

Artists are invited to enter their work in a competition to help people understand disaster risks and resilience, organised by the World Bank. Taste of Korea

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea is hosting a Korean festival featuring food, a cooking contest, and a K-pop event, to introduce the public to various aspects of Korean culture.
When and Where: K-food cooking contest and K-food global festival will be held on May 4 from 10am to 4pm at the Vientiane Center, and the K-pop festival will take place on May 5 from 4-6pm at the National Culture Hall.

The National Blood Transfusion Centre in Vientiane invites everyone to donate blood to assist floodvictims in Attapeu province. Korean cooking contest

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea is hosting a cooking contest as part of the “Taste of Korea 2019 in Vientiane” event and invites Lao people to enter the competition. Participants are allowed to bring additional ingredients, tableware and kitchen utensils. The winner will be invited to participate in the final round of the ‘Hansik Contest’ in Korea in November.
When: Apply on or before April 19 at 5pm.

Scholarship for Weaving

Women in Xieng Khuang, Huaphan, Borikhamxay and Xaysomboun provinces are invited to apply for a one-month weaving vocational course scholarship in Phonesavanh village of Paek district in Xieng Khuang. The course is meant to support women entrepreneurs, particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged women who have business ideas and aspirations but lack funds. Women with and without past weaving experience are welcome to apply.

Visit Tadxon waterfall for the Ancestor Festival

Tadxon waterfall is welcoming those who want some fun after giving alms at temples to celebrate the Ancestor Festival on September 24.
Visitors will be served free grilled chicken at picnic huts, made from chickens raised at the site. Activities include forest walks and a tour of the Chao Souphanouvong Cave, where President Souphanouvong and other Lao leaders took refuge after escaping from Phonkheng jail in 1959 during the Indochina war. The site has 111 huts, 40 guesthouse rooms, and 11 elephants providing rides. There is also a 3,700 metre cable car ride that takes visitors to a rocky hilltop.
