Dance contest

Primary and secondary school students are invited to take part in this contest to mark National Day on December 2. The winner will receive 1.5 million kip and a trophy. A performance to kick off the event will be organised by Lao World Public Company.

Talk on Japanese food

Everyone is invited to a talk titled ‘Fermented Foods As Japanese Culture’ which will teach you more about Japanese food and its place in the country’s culture.

Austcham charity golf day

Austcham Lao is delighted to invite everyone to the 3rd Austcham Charity Golf Day at Long Vien Golf Club. The tournament registration fee includes green fee, golf cart, lunch box, drinks and dinner. All proceeds from the event will be used to support the Association for Autism (AfA), a non-profit organisation that promotes the rights and improves access to appropriate support services of persons with autism. Vientiane International Marathon

The first-ever Vientiane International Marathon (VIM2019) is coming this December 8.

Appeal for blood donations for dengue patients

The National Blood Transfusion Centre invites members of the public to give blood as this is urgently needed by hospitals for people suffering from dengue fever.

Everyone is invited to this fair to see a play, circus acts, singing and dances, and shop at stalls selling a wide range of goods and food.

Bank accounts for helping flood victims

The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare has opened the official bank accounts to seek more funds to help the flood victims in six southern provinces: Khammuan, Savannakhet, Saravan, Champassak, Xekong and Attapeu.

Appeal for help for flood victims

You are invited to give generously to help thousands of families in Savvannaket, Saravan, Champassak, Attapeu and Xekong provinces who have suffered in the wake of widespread flooding. They need urgent help to meet their basic needs, including essentials such as food, drinking water and clothing.
Where: The emergency appeal is organised by various organisations in Vientiane and the provinces.

Visit Tadxon waterfall for the Ancestor Festival

Tadxon waterfall is welcoming those who want some fun after giving alms at temples to celebrate the Ancestor Festival on September 24.
Visitors will be served free grilled chicken at picnic huts, made from chickens raised at the site. Activities include forest walks and a tour of the Chao Souphanouvong Cave, where President Souphanouvong and other Lao leaders took refuge after escaping from Phonkheng jail in 1959 during the Indochina war. The site has 111 huts, 40 guesthouse rooms, and 11 elephants providing rides. There is also a 3,700 metre cable car ride that takes visitors to a rocky hilltop.
Where: Near Nanyang village, Naxaithong district, 4km off Road 13 North from Huakhua village, 28km from downtown Vientiane.

Flood victim appeal

Rescue 1624 in collaboration with Houng Aloun Logistics  invite members of the public to donate food, rice, clothes, medicines and other essentials to assist flood victims in the southern provinces. Donated food and medicines should have at least six-month expiry dates.
