Singer embraces celluloid, studies ahead of expected graduation

Singer Ms Phonesavanh Inthavong (Namfon) is busy juggling her role on the musical stage and music videos while extending her range to film and preparing for her university graduation.

This film series Hak Nee Siboua (On the Side: The Series) is the first time for her for to act as a character on celluloid so different to those in her music videos.

Namfon at a Bouangsuang ceremony held before the shooting of new film series Hak Nee Siboua .

Her character in the film series is Gie Gie, a young girl who is jealous of another despite a privileged family background.

Namfon got the nod from Mind Media to show off her skill and talent in the series after impressive acting in her music video Fanglom Haichai that made her better known to the public.

Her win in the Pepsi Singing Contest 2013 and performances since as a singer for Indee Records have been bringing happiness and entertainment to fans and the general public.

She said the character of Gie Gie was the kind that she had dreamt to explore since she was a child.

It was a good chance to use her skill and knowledge to help make the film a fine one to attract her local fans to follow and support.

In film, Namfon is seeking a new opportunity to express herself which she hopes will enhance her skill and knowledge in performing as well as her experience.

Acting is a challenge for her but she is happy for the chance to join this Lao film series.

Namfon, 21 now is studying at Faculty of Letters in fourth year at National University of Laos.

She is also busy preparing her final report at the faculty for graduation in a month.

She said she will continue preparing her final report while juggling her various entertainment roles.

Namfon also spends her free time each evening studying Business Administration at Souksavath College in order to improve her knowledge.

Those days on which she is busy performing at events, she kindly asks her friends and teachers to take notes on the subjects she has missed.

She thanks friends and teachers at college and university for their cooperation.

She said after graduating from the faculty she will seek work as a government official and also wants to have a small business of her own.

In Lao entertainment, she will continue doing that which she loves, especially singing for which she will try to manage her time and do her best.
