How two Lao photographers achieved success with their studio

The Moment Wedding studio has become one of the most popular studios in Laos by using social media, especially Facebook, to share its beautiful pictures and videos of marriages.

The studio is owned by two 25-year-old local businessmen, Mr Soukpaseuth Vongphachanh who is also known as Mr Be, and Mr Soukpaseuth Lathsachak or Mr Tui.

Both are best friends who also share the same first name.

As young photographers, Mr Be and Mr Tui spoke about their path to success with The Moment Wedding studio, which they started three years ago.

Mr Be is an expert in shooting and editing photos, while Mr Tui is an expert in making videos. Their studio currently employs eight people.

Mr Be told Vientiane Times , “I am very happy that our studio receives a lot of flattering mentions and has generated a lot of interest in society.”

He added, “Mr Tui and I started The Moment Wedding studio because we love taking photos. We studied taking and editing photos for more than five years by registering for photography workshops, and then we studied with an expert from Hong Kong and also travelled around three times to Bangkok in Thailand.”

“We also exchanged and shared ideas on how we could use our expertise to open a studio.”

At the initial stage, they faced several difficulties, such as accessing capital for the studio, acquiring equipment and lacked experience in promoting their business among prospective customers.

The studio, located at Sivilay village of Xaythany district in Vientiane, is currently doing well and attracting a growing number of customers.

The studio specialises in shooting pre-wedding gatherings, wedding parties, models for calendars, advertising events, food menus and various ceremonies.

About 250 couples use the studio's services every year, and shooting weddings is a big part of the business.

Customers can also visit the studio's Facebook page by searching for The Moment Wedding.
