Walk in aid of No Tobacco Day

The Ministry of Health is partnering with WHO, UNDP and SEATCA to invite members of the public to take part in a walk in Vientiane to mark World No Tobacco Day. Come along to walk and learn how you can pro-tect your friends and family from the harms of tobacco. Remember to bring a raincoat and a reusable water bottle.
When and Where: The walk will take place on June 3 at That Luang Lake Park at 6am.

The Royal Palace Museum in Luang Prabang (also known as Haw Kham or Golden Hall) was once Laos’ Royal Palace and houses a lot of interesting historical items. Built in 1904, it features a blend of Lao and French styles.
When: The museum is open daily from 8-11:30am and 1-3.30pm.
Where: Located in the centre of Luang Prabang, opposite Mount Phousi.

Vat Sisaket Museum in Vientiane is famous for its cloister wall housing thousands of tiny Buddha images and rows of hundreds of seated Buddhas. These images mainly date from the 16th and 19th centuries and come in all sizes and are made from wood, stone and bronze.

The Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone will host a half marathon of 21.1 km and a mini half marathon of 10.5 km to promote sports competition and mark the 36th International Anti-Drug Day. The zone management will award prizes worth about 1.3 billion kip (2.7 million Thai baht) to the winners of the races.

The Sala Sujipuli Culture Center invites children between the ages of 7 to 18 years old to this competition to promote young children’s skill and preserve traditional culture, such as Khaen playing and music. The winner will receive 2 million kip in cash.
