Free boxing course

Girls and boys aged 13-17 are encouraged to learn Lao and international boxing styles, and kickboxing. Registration is free.

Free occupational training for women

Women aged between 16 and 34 years who are currently not working can apply for a free training course in wig making. Selected participants will join the 40-day course with free accommodation and meals. After training, the participants who graduate will be employed and receive a salary ranging from 1.2 million kip to 3.12 million kip with welfare measures such as training courses. Textbook donation

People having old textbooks that they no longer use but which are still in good condition, are invited to donate the textbooks to the Vientiane secondary school. The books will be kept in the school library or shared with other schools that don’t have enough textbooks.

Asean PhD fellowship programme in India

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) invite scholars from Laos to apply to this programme. The IITs are world-renowned for their quality education and research output. If selected, you will be able to complete your PhD with funding from the
Government of India. The funding includes a monthly stipend and an annual research grant for up to five years of the PhD programme.

Photo contest

The Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment invites entries to a contest with the themes “the Montreal Protocol - keep the world cool” and “the storage of food and vaccines”. Entries can be in the form of a photo, painting or graphic. The winner will receive a tablet and smart watch.

Online Chinese cultural activities

Members of the public are invited to take part in an online Chinese cultural activities programme with a chance to win a prize! The events are hosted by the China Cultural Centre, throughout Laos to mark the countdown to the end of 2021 and welcoming the new year. Book donation

Members of the public can donate books for supporting and promoting the reading of Lao schoolchildren. Free job training in Khammuan

Those aged between 15 and 35 years who have graduated primary school and wish to have an occupation to improve their living conditions are suggested to apply for free short training courses in Khammuan province. The courses will provide training for four professions –beauty salons, tailoring, cooking and indoor electrical maintenance. Selected candidates will get a stipend 620,000 kip a month along with free dormitory and study initials.
