EY Lao hosts seminar on Lao Financial Reporting Standards

Ernst & Young Lao Co., Ltd. (EY Lao) co-hosted an important seminar on Lao Financial Reporting Standards for large-sized enterprises, in collaboration with the Accounting Regulatory Department of the Ministry of Finance.

The aim of the seminar was to provide a general overview of the key concepts of financial reporting standards for non-public interest enterprises.
The talk was attended by representatives of private entities and non-public enterprises. The Deputy Director General of the Accounting Regulatory Department, Mr Vanxay Thongsihavong, also gave a presentation.
Office Managing Partner of EY Lao, Mr Anh Hoang Trinh, gave the opening remarks and emphasised the importance of and how EY Lao values the effective use of Lao Financial Reporting Standards.
During the seminar, EY Lao underlined the importance and impacts of applying these standards to the market and shared observations on the difficulties faced by businesses during the implementation process.
The seminar was one of the steps taken by EY Lao to encourage non-public interest enterprises to apply the Lao Financial Reporting Standards to their accounting systems, so that they operate in full compliance with Laos’ laws and regulations.
In 2021, EY Lao hosted a webinar on the same topic, which was chaired by the Director General of the Accounting Regulatory Department, Mrs Davone Thongchan, and also shared perspectives from regulators and guidance on the use of Lao Financial Reporting Standards.
