Oudomxay Jiangge Cement Plant to be major supplier in northern markets

Oudomxay Jiangge Cement Plant in Oudomxay province, in the north of Laos, has completed construction works.
The President of the Lao Front for National Development,  Dr Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, and the Oudomxay Provincial Governor, Mr Bounkhong
Lachiemphon, together with officials from central and provincial levels, visited the plant recently.
The Chief Financial Officer of Xiamen Yongfugui Group, Mr Xu Yangming, and General Manager of Oudomxay Jiangge Cement Plant, Mr Wang Zhibing, accompanied by company representatives, also participated in the welcoming and meeting ceremonies.

At the dialogue, Mr Wang Zhibing briefed the backgrounds of the investment, the construction progress and the production.
He said that, in July 2017, Guizhou Jiangge Cement Co., Ltd. invested 100 percent in the acquisition of the Oudomxay Jiangge Cement Plant and Luang Prabang Jiangge Cement Plant with the approval of the Chinese government,  which is also listed as a key project of the “Belt and Road” in Guizhou Province, China.
Construction of the cement production line with an annual output of 2 million tonnes has been completed and officially started production on March 10, 2023. The finished cement product is scheduled to be sold to the market in April 2023.
Mr Wang Zhibing also said that the investment in the Luang Prabang and Oudomxay Jiangge Cement Plants is in the first phase by Guizhou Jiangge Cement Co. Ltd., under the Xiamen Yongfugui Group.

In the next stage, the company will continue to increase its investment in Laos to support economic and social development and contribute to the friendship between China and Laos.
Dr Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, who is also a Politburo member of the Central Party Committee, praised the success of the investment and construction of the Oudomxay Jiangge Cement Plant in line with the company plan. He hoped that the company would fulfil to fulfil its
vision and mission well and become the most competitive and socially responsible enterprise.
“Through today’s field research, we have seen that the company has very strong economic strength and technical capabilities, and will undoubtedly be a major taxpayer in Laos in the future,” Dr Sinlavong said.
It is hoped that more Lao employees can be trained to become technical experts.
In the next step, the Lao government will support the cement production of the nation by issuing policies to facilitate product supplies and reduce the amount of cement imports.
It is envisaged that in the process of development, the Oudomxay Jiangge Cement Plant can balance the interests of the government, enterprise and the people, achieve win-win results, take root in Laos, and fulfill long-term development.
