Russia holds press conference on Ukraine crisis ## Health ministry bans contaminated seaweed snack
- Shipment of freight booms on Laos-China railway 
The Laos-China railway has carried more than 440,000 tonnes of freight as of April 25 following the opening of seven freight stations between Vientiane and Luang Namtha province.
Deputy Chief Engineer at the Laos-China Railway Company, Mr Vongthong Souphanthong, said freight traffic had increased significantly in recent weeks.

- Storm wreaks damage on houses in Saravan
Storms have damaged houses, vehicles, and agricultural produce including 8 tonnes of rice in four villages of Saravan district, Saravan province. The storm followed a forecast by the Meteorology and Hydrology Department that many areas of the country would experience rain and strong winds over the past week.
Officials are assessing the extent of the damage and helping people to repair their houses. Fortunately, no one was injured or killed, Saravan Television reported.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare plans to set up a system to record workplace injuries, as an essential part of worker protection.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday to mark World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Mr Phongsaisack Intharath announced the ministry’s intention as a contribution to global efforts to prevent occupational accidents and diseases.

-  Get a Covid booster shot to allow foreign travel: taskforce 
Health authorities have advised members of the public to get a Covid-19 vaccine booster to strengthen their immunity and meet the criteria needed to apply for foreign travel.
Having booster shots (third or fourth vaccinations) is a requirement for application for foreign travel, the National Taskforce for Covid-19 Prevention and Control told the daily press briefing on Tuesday.
It comes as the government is considering fully reopening the country to travel for both Lao and foreign nationals.   ...More >>>
