The government has vowed to stabilise the macro economy and currency exchange rates, reaffirming that it won’t allow the country to slide into debt default. - Thanaleng Dry Port, Vientiane Logistics Park earn 8.7 billion kip for state budget, DPM told
Vientiane Logistics Park and Thanaleng Dry Port have generated 8.7 billion kip for the state budget from logistics services in the first five months of operation, a Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) was told.
In addition, more than 1,000 billion kip was collected over the first six months of this year from taxes and customs duty charged on goods passing through the logistics park and its associated dry port, the project developer told the DPM. - UXO accidents kill 2, injure 9 in first six months of 2022
Nine people were injured and two people were killed in accidents involving unexploded ordnance (UXO) across the country during the first six months of this year, with most of the accidents occurring while people were farming.
