Spectators find tickets elusive
The SEA Games is the most popular sporting event for Southeast Asian nations, with tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies and the men's football always selling out fast.
This is a problem not only at the ongoing 25th SEA Games in Vientiane , but at every SEA Games.
This year the men's football matches got underway on December 2 when Vietnam took on Thailand , followed by the much anticipated battle between Laos and Myanmar on December 5. Tickets for the 20,000-seat National Stadium were sold out before these matches took place.
Tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies of this year's SEA Games have also been sold out well in advance.
However, supporters who missed the chance to get into the stadium and see the action first-hand need not feel entirely cheated. The organising committee has set up a big screen outside the stadium displaying all the action live for those who didn't manage to get their hands on a ticket.
Ticket prices for the opening and closing ceremonies:
Type A seat: 500,000 kip
Type B seat: 400,000 kip
Type C seat: 300,000 kip
Type D seat: 200,000 kip
Note: Tickets include entry to both opening and closing ceremonies.
