More than 1,000 people gathered at the National Culture Hall in Vientiane yesterday to mark the 56th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and celebrate the achievements of the Ninth Party Congress.
The 9th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party ran from March 17-21, 2011 in Vientiane and was attended by 576 delegates representing 191,780 Party members nationwide. More >>>
Every five years the Lao People's Revolutionary Party holds its National Congress to review the implementation of the resolution of the previous congress, make any necessary amendments to the Party Statute and elect the supreme national leadership body for the next five year period.
