3. Illegal vehicle importation incidents chased up in capital
Vientiane authorities have resolved a significant number of cases of illegal car imports and import tax avoidance over the past six months, recovering funds due to support the nation's budget. The 382 vehicles seized in the capital were some of the 5,639 illegal imports impounded nationwide in the fiscal year of 2015-2016, representing some 66 billion kip in lost state revenue. . .More >>>

4. Borikhamxay irrigation project feasibility study approved
A feasibility study for development of the Koutfamab irrigation project in Thapabath district, Borikhamxay province will proceed after the signing of an agreement in the nation's capital. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed in Vientiane on Friday by the Director General of the Irrigation Department, Mr Maykong Phonephommavong and China's Hainan Construction Engineering Co., Ltd Deputy General Manager, Mr Jiwei. . . M inistry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) and Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) have agreed to initiate environmental protection cooperation which will contribute to sustainable national development. The new project, known as “Strengthening of LFNC Capacity on Environmental Monitoring” is being implemented with development assistance from the Environmental Protection Fund (EPF). More >>>

- Application forms available for transfer to bachelor courses
Graduates with higher diploma degrees from colleges from across the country who wish to pursue studies for higher degrees in 2017-18 can register for the entrance examinations at the National University of Laos (NUoL). The application forms for NUoL are available from July 10 to September 22 at the University. The Lao-Japan Friendship Sakura Park in Viengxay district, Huaphan province has announced a temporary closure to the general public so authorities can make improvements and repair damage to facilities.
