Local authorities have been urged to monitor border crossings to prevent people from entering Laos illegally from Thailand, to stem the spread of Covid-19 after a widespread outbreak in Thailand.
As Thailand faces a second wave of Covid-19, many Lao workers are returning home, both legally and illegally, sparking fears of a second wave in Laos, an official from the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said.

Commité de Coopération avec le Laos (CCL) and Phongsaly authorities have agreed to cooperate in the development of upland areas to improve the sustainable management of natural resources.
