Obituary of Mr Somsanouk Mixay (Michel Drouot)

The Board of Directors of Lao Press in Foreign Languages and staff sadly inform co-workers and relatives near and far that Mr Somsanouk Mixay (Michel Drouot), who was one of the founders of the Vientiane Times, a former Director General of Lao Press in Foreign Languages (Vientiane Times), former Vice President of the Lao Journalists’ Association, former Vice President of the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity, passed away on January 24 at the age of 84. His funeral will take place at his house in Dongpalaeb village, Street No. 1, in Chanthabouly district, Vientiane.
Funeral rites will be held on Sunday January 29 at 13:00pm at Thepnimit temple cemetery (That Foun temple).
A merit-making day for him will be held on January 30, with the offering of gifts and alms to nine monks taking place on January 31.
Lao Press in Foreign Languages wishes to inform everyone who knew Mr Somsanouk of his sad passing and to share condolences with his colleagues and family members.
