China hosts ASEAN women journalists for AI and digital media training
Nanning, China – Twenty-seven female journalists from Laos, Indonesia and Myanmar are taking part in a 14-day programme here aimed at strengthening multimedia journalism skills, enhancing digital media knowledge, and promoting regional media cooperation.
The Seminar for Female Multimedia Journalists from ASEAN Countries, taking place from July 8-21, combines lectures with visits to universities, media organisations, research institutes and technology companies in Nanning, Guangxi province and Hangzhou province.
The programme covers a wide range of topics, including international communication, news production and convergence media, artificial intelligence (AI), digital content creation, media branding, women’s professional development, and international communication strategies.
Participants are also visiting several institutions to gain first-hand experience of China’s advances in media and technology. These include the School of Communication at Guangxi Minzu University, the Advanced Research Institute of Information Technology at Peking University, Guangxi Radio and Television Network, Hangzhou Xingzhi Technology Co., Ltd., and a Future Technology Experience Centre showcasing AI-powered technologies and intelligent robots.
The programme also features visits to cultural and scientific institutions, including the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Museum and the Guangxi Academy of Sciences, allowing participants to explore China’s cultural heritage alongside its technological development.
