A Celebration of Mathematical Excellence: ISL’s 16th Inter-Schools Math Olympiad (ISMO XVI)

The 16th edition of the International School of Laos’ (ISL) Inter-Schools Math Olympiad (ISMO XVI) recently concluded, leaving behind an inspiring legacy of achievement, perseverance and academic brilliance.

Held on March 1, 2025, with the awards ceremony on March 22, 2025, this year’s competition was once again a success, attracting 1,130 students from more than 40 schools across Laos.
Since its inception, ISMO has become an eagerly anticipated annual tradition, offering students in Laos an exceptional platform to showcase their mathematical abilities.

The event brings together young minds from prestigious schools and diverse backgrounds, uniting them in their shared passion for mathematics and intellectual challenge.
ISL’s ISMO is hosted annually across its Vientiane and Pakxe campuses, and the school is proud to offer this invaluable opportunity for students to engage in a competition that encourages them to push their limits and pursue excellence.
By organising ISMO each year, ISL provides a space for students to challenge themselves, share knowledge, and foster a sense of community among young mathematicians. This year’s participation, with students representing various provinces including Vientiane, Pakxe and beyond, highlighted the event’s growing prominence and its role in fostering a culture of academic excellence throughout Laos.
The awards ceremony, held on March 22, 2025, was a moment of recognition for those who stood out in the competition. ISL congratulates all the winners, awardees and participants for their hard work and accomplishments.
