Foreign Minister to visit Singapore, the Philippines

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Thongsavanh Phomvihane, will pay official visits to Singapore and the Philippines from August 11-14 to strengthen bilateral ties with both countries, according to a statement issued by the foreign ministry.
The visit to Singapore on August 11-12 is in response to an invitation from the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.
On August 13-14, Mr Thongsavanh will visit the Philippines at the invitation of that country’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ms Maria Theresa P. Lazaro.
While in Manila, Mr Thongsavanh will attend the third meeting of the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between Laos and the Philippines.
These visits aim to expand friendly relations and deepen cooperation between Laos and the two ASEAN countries in areas of mutual interest.
