Preparations are being stepped up for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), which falls on December 2, with the Lao People’s Army conducting a second rehearsal of the military parade to ensure full readiness.
Taking place on Monday at the Kommadam Military Academy in Phonhong district, Vientiane province, the event was attended by Deputy Minister of National Defence Major General Saychai Kommasith, leaders from General Departments, the Office of the Ministry of National Defenceand various troop contingents, and representatives from other relevant government bodies.
The second parade rehearsal aimed to ensure unity, precision, and meaning in all the elements involved, including the content, participating personnel, equipment readiness, and coordination of the mass gathering.
The Lao People’s Army’s General Staff Department, serving as the main steering body, has been working with relevant ministries, military units, and local forces to ensure the success of the event.
The parade is intended not only to be a fitting tribute to the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao PDR but also to proudly showcase the achievements of the nation in construction and development over the past five decades.
It serves as an occasion to further strengthen national solidarity and unity among the multi-ethnic Lao people under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, continuing the collective mission to safeguard and develop the nation towards the fulfilment of its strategic goals.
After the parade rehearsal, Major General Saychai praised all those involved for their dedication and the progress demonstrated during the drills.
He noted that, compared with the first rehearsal, significant improvements were evident, particularly in formation arrangements and synchronisation.
At the same time, he said certain aspects still required refinement, such as maintaining consistent spacing between squads, enhancing rhythm coordination, and clearly defining standing points.
Major General Saychai stressed the importance of continued, diligent practice to ensure perfection in every detail. He urged committees, contingent leaders, officers, and soldiers to strictly follow the assigned plans and strive to meet the set objectives.
Following his remarks, leaders from each contingent shared suggestions aimed at further unifying the parade’s content and execution.
Their proposals covered various areas, including exercise coordination, rhythm and posture alignment, health maintenance, and other means to enhance overall efficiency.
The event was an another important step in preparing for the grand celebration that will honour the triumphant founding of the Lao PDR, reflecting the nation’s enduring unity, pride, and progress under the Party’s leadership.
