Representatives from Xieng Khuang and Borikhamxay provinces learn the basics of cooperative accounting during a training course this month at the Lao-Korea Development and Training Centre in Vientiane. The course was supported by the Government of the Republic of Korea and implemented by the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Strengthening cooperative accounting aims to increase production capacity and families’ incomes. The training is part of a project to promote the establishment of the Saemaul Geumgo savings system in villages. The project aims to introduce a structured village-level savings and loan system to enhance self-reliance, reduce poverty, and promote sustainable community development. |
