M moneyX hooks up with LAPNet, ushering in new era of digital finance

M moneyX, a leading e-wallet in Laos, has linked to the Lao National Payment Network (LAPNet), making financial transactions easier and faster.
An agreement on the partnership was signed in Vientiane on Tuesday by the CEO of LAPNet, Mr Sisamone Srithirath, and the CEO of Lao Mobile Money Sole Company Limited, Mr Alounnadeth Barnchit.
The agreement confirms M moneyX as a new member of LAPNet, the first e-wallet to be approved as a member and a significant step for M moneyX.
The partnership will enhance the seamless transfer of transactions between banks that are members of LAPNet to M moneyX.
M moneyX wallets can also be transferred to all member bank accounts, including scanning payment for various products with QR Codes. The Lao QR can be used in all stores across Laos.
M moneyX’s membership in LAPNet is considered an important step in the development of Laos’ digital financial applications. It is an interbank payment network developed by the Bank of the Lao PDR to enable secure and high-speed money transfer between banks and digital finance service providers.
This partnership is not just the signing of a contract, but paves the way for a long-term relationship between the company and M moneyX to bring financial innovation and convenient and secure services to the people of Laos.
In addition, M moneyX has updated its app to the M money SuperX, which acts as a hub for all telecommunication services set up on the M moneyX app.
It can also support wallets for tourists by connecting to Visa and MasterCard to enable money transfers from overseas through MoneyGram without charges, and offer various promotions.
The move promotes the development of digital financial services through mobile wallets in Laos and supports the modernisation of financial settlements in line with the government’s vision, as well as the digital vision of the Ministry of Technology and Communications, the CEO of Lao Mobile Money Sole Company Limited, Mr Alounnadeth Barnchit said.
The system enables access to financial services nationwide through the Bank of the Lao PDR through the M moneyX mobile wallet and can connect banks and Fintech companies, both in Laos and other countries, through the LAPNet network.
To use the M moneyX app without restriction, as long as you have an internet signal you can make all financial transactions through one app, Mr Aloundeth said.
The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Technology and Communications, Prof. Dr Boviengkham Vongdara; Deputy Minister of Technology and Communications, Dr Santisouk Simmalavong; Deputy Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR, Mr Soulysak Thamnuvong; Director General of the Director General of the Lao Telecommunications Public Company Group, Mr Souphol Chanthavixay; and Acting Director General of the Payment Management System Department, Mr Manolith Soumphonphacdy.
