iM Financial Group and Korean Real Estate Board provided new library to boost learning opportunities in Sangthong
A newly built library at Phialad Primary School in Sangthong district, Vientiane, was officially handed over to the school on Tuesday, in a ceremony jointly organised by Good Neighbors Laos and the Sangthong district education and sports office.
Funded by the iM Financial Group and the Korean Real Estate Board, the library was built at a cost of US$34,734, to improve the learning environment and ensure equal education opportunities for children in rural communities.
The handover ceremony was led by Sangthong district Governor Mr Khampaserth Butdavong, Vice President of the iM Financial Group, Mr Sung Taemun, Executive Vice President of the Korean Real Estate Board, Mr You Eunchul, and Country Director of Good Neighbours Laos, Mr Hong Seokjun.

Speaking at the event, Mr Sung Taemun said the initiative reflects the donors’ commitment to supporting quality education in Laos, adding that “the library will enhance access to learning and help ensure that Lao children can grow up with equal opportunities.”
In addition to the library, the donors provided 20 footballs, several sets of stationery, and five laptop computers to assist with the library’s management and daily use.
The district governor expressed his appreciation for the generous contribution, while a student representative thanked the donors on behalf of the school community.
Both pledged to make good use of the library and all donated materials to further students’ learning.
School authorities vowed to manage the resources sustainably to ensure long-term benefits for current and future generations of learners.
