ASEAN media tour shines spotlight on Guangxi’s dynamic growth

(Guangxi, China) –Journalists from ASEAN countries are touring Guangxi this week to witness the region’s fast-growing industries, smart border projects, and its role as China’s gateway to Southeast Asia.
The “Guangxi in the Eyes of International Media 2025” programme opened on August 25 in Chongzuo City, bringing together 27 journalists and online influencers from Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
The week-long tour is hosted by the Information Office of the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and organised by the Guangxi branch of the China News Service.
Participants will experience Guangxi’s transformation and learn about its growing role in China-ASEAN cooperation, particularly in the digital era.

Editor-in-Chief of the China News, Mr Wu Qingcai, said Guangxi is embracing high-quality development and the spirit of working together into the future.
He called on ASEAN journalists to share their experiences with their home audiences to give people a clearer understanding of China and its cooperation with ASEAN.

The city is also developing the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway, the China-Vietnam smart port project, and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, while using artificial intelligence to strengthen cross-border industry and deliver greater benefits to both China and ASEAN.
Senior journalist at Singapore’s Fortune Times, Mr Larry Teo Meng Liang, said China’s achievements in artificial intelligence and new energy vehicles are attracting international attention.
He added that he hopes to report on Guangxi’s transformation with the keen eye of a journalist.
