Laos Duty-Free Group supports LNCCI operations with 100mln kip donation

The Laos Duty-Free Group on Wednesday handed over 100 million kip to the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) to help strengthen the Chamber’s operations and performance in representing the country’s business community.
The contribution was presented by the company’s director, Ms Zhang Xiao Hong, to LNCCI Vice President, Mr Daovone Phachanthavong, at a handover ceremony held at the Chamber’s offices in Vientiane.
Established in 1989 as an independent body, the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry serves as the central representative of the Lao business community.
The Chamber has grown to include more than 4,000 members, represented through Chambers of Commerce in all 18 provinces of Laos, as well as numerous business associations and groups, making it the largest and most representative business community organisation in Laos.
The contribution is expected to bolster LNCCI’s ongoing efforts to improve services for its members, enhance business networking opportunities, and strengthen collaboration with both domestic and international partners.
It will also support the Chamber’s role in policy dialogue with the government, helping to create a more enabling environment for private sector development.

Mr Daovone expressed his gratitude to the Laos Duty-Free Group, saying the contribution would have a meaningful impact.
“This support will allow us to further professionalise our operations, expand our outreach to members nationwide, and better represent the interests of Lao businesses,” he said.
The donation underscores the importance of private sector solidarity in driving economic development and supporting institutions that serve as bridges between businesses and the government.
Laos Duty-Free Group Co., Ltd. was established with the approval of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Ministry of Finance, and is the only enterprise in Laos authorised to pilot downtown duty-free stores.
The company operates duty-free shops in Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Khammuan, Vangvieng, and other key locations, including airports and border crossings.
With a strong presence in Southeast Asia’s duty-free market, tourism, and international trade, the company actively supports economic cooperation among ASEAN and RCEP member states.
As a participant in the Belt and Road Initiative, Laos Duty-Free Group works closely with partners to promote cultural tourism, international trade, and the duty-free sector, contributing to Laos’ economic and tourism development.
