Deputy ministers, department heads, representatives from offices, centres, institutions, organisations, and private companies gather with  Deputy Minister of Technology and Communications, Dr Santisouk Simmalavong, at the launch of a streamlined licensing system for businesses that operate online. The new, faster, method will replace the existing business licence application system, which requires business operators to physically visit a government office to submit the relevant documents, meaning the licensing process is slow and outdated.

Representatives of Lao Brewery Co., Ltd. present a cash prize to the winning Joint Development Bank’s men’s team after they won the traditional boat race contest in Vientiane on Wednesday.

Setthathirath Hospital hosts a meeting and practical training session on advanced techniques for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy to raise the standard of gastric cancer screening. The event was supported by the Japanese non-profit organisation NPO-HIGAN. The session was chaired by the Director of Setthathirath Hospital, Dr Vangnakone Dittaphong, an expert from Osaka International, Prof. Dr Noriya Uedo, the Cancer Institute, and a specialist from Japan’s Fukuoka University, Chikushi Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr Kentaro Imamura.

The Confucius Institute at the National University of Laos on Monday celebrated National Teachers' Day, welcomed new Chinese teachers and volunteers to the institute, and announced staff retirement benefits. The event was attended by the university’s Vice Presidents, Mr Thongsouk Keomany and Mr Sinthavone Dalavong, along with the Dean, Head of Office, Deputy Directors, Lao and Chinese staff, and students.
