Running for a good cause: LBC continues 11-year commitment to help Lao children

What began as a simple idea to encourage people to live healthier and more active lives has become one of Laos’s most meaningful charity events — the Run for Children – Luang Prabang Half Marathon.
For 11 consecutive years, Lao Brewery Company (LBC), through its flagship drinking water brand Tigerhead, has proudly served as the platinum sponsor of this remarkable initiative. This enduring partnership reflects LBC’s strong commitment to community development, health, and social responsibility.
“It’s inspiring to see how the Run for Children unites people from all walks of life to support the well-being of Lao children,” said Managing Director of Lao Brewery Company Henrik Juel Andersen.
“We are proud to stand alongside the organisers, runners, and volunteers in this shared mission of care and compassion.”

The event’s purpose goes far beyond fitness. It was founded to raise funds for the Lao Friends Hospital for Children (LFHC) in Luang Prabang, which provides free medical care to more than 30,000 children every year across northern Laos.
Beyond its fundraising mission, the children from eight provinces who receive treatment at the LFHC benefit not only from the hospital’s high-standard medical facilities and modern equipment but also from the dedication of some of the world’s best doctors, who volunteer their time and expertise to provide care, share knowledge and work side by side with local medical teams.
The Run for Children 2025, held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, once again gathered more than 3,000 of runners from Laos and around the world. They raced through the UNESCO World Heritage streets of Luang Prabang, past its ancient temples and along the Mekong and Khan Rivers — each step symbolising hope and compassion.
Every runner and supporter who joined this meaningful event shared the same journey with Tigerhead and LBC to make a difference, proving that every step, no matter how big or small, can change a child’s life.
