                              The newly built Samakkhixay Kindergarten in Xienghon  district, Xayabouly province, is officially handed over on Thursday to district  officials for transfer to village authorities, after construction was financed  by the Children’s Dream Foundation The kindergarten comprises three classrooms,  an office, a warehouse and three toilets.                               Representatives from villages in Vientiane province and  agriculture officials attend a five-day training course on Cooperative Account  Systems. The course in Vientiane was supported by the Government of the  Republic of Korea through Community Credit Cooperatives and implemented by the  Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, aiming to strengthen fund management  in rural communities. An agriculture official said village savings groups are  key to rural development and poverty reduction. They are a means to ensure each  family has a stable income, enhanced production capacity, and long-term  economic resilience, in line with national development goals.  |

                              Officials from the Tourism Development Department of the  Ministry of Culture and Tourism last week assess the standard of cleanliness at  key locations in Luang Prabang. This was done to ensure standards are  maintained in line with ASEAN clean tourism requirements. Sites inspected  included bus stations, boat docks, Souphanouvong University, tourist  attractions, hotels, restaurants, craft shops, garbage disposal site, water  supply, and other infrastructure.
