Phu Bia Mining continues supporting traffic and road safety in Laos

Phu Bia Mining (PBM), a leading mining company of Laos, on May 30 donated traffic safety supplies worth 93,220,000 kip to the Traffic Police Department to bolster traffic and road safety efforts.
The supplies were handed over to the Chief of the Department, Colonel Kongsy Souvannatoum, by Phu Bia Mining’s Managing Director, Mr Steve Gimpel, and PanAust General Manager (Commercial), Mr Murray Phipps.
The 325 items, comprising 25 tyres, 200 safety cones and 100 traffic safety flash batons, that were donated will be distributed to central and provincial Traffic Police Departments across the country.
Speaking on behalf of the Traffic Police Department about PBM’s donations, Colonel Kongsy said: “We will use the new tyres for our existing traffic police vehicles which need tyre replacement. The safety cones and flash batons will assist us in our day and night road traffic operations. Thank you to Phu Bia Mining for extending the support to our Department.”
The PanAust Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Daling Zheng, spoke about the support given by PanAust and Phu Bia Mining for traffic and road safety in Laos.
“Phu Bia Mining uses public roads to haul our concentrate, transport employees and manage contractors’ transportation. We continue to prioritise safety by implementing a wide range of road safety activities for our employees and local communities,” Mr Zheng said.

He added, “The donations to the Traffic Police Department will be important to help the traffic police continue their operations safely and support road safety for local communities.”
The Chairman of Phu Bia Mining, Mr Chanpheng Bounnaphol, said: “We are committed to safety on public roads to make sure our employees go home safe daily and our local communities receive good road safety knowledge and skills. We will continue our work and support for the central and provincial Traffic Police Departments in many ways in the future.”
