Lao food producers aim for place on international stage

Have you been to the Lao Food Festival in Vientiane?
This year’s Lao Food Festival was thoughtfully and attractively organised as always, drawing a large number of locals and foreigners to appreciate the pleasures of Lao cuisine.
As the key sponsor of the event from its inception until today, over a period of 19 years the Lao Brewery Company Ltd. has been keen to support efforts to ensure Lao food is recognised internationally.

The festival is organised by the Lao Women’s Union in cooperation with the Lao Businesswomen’s Association and this year took place from January 24-28 at Chao Anouvong Park near the Mekong River, under the theme “Promoting Lao Food for International Recognition”.
The festival is an annual event and aims to raise the profile of Lao culture in association with Lao food and the way of life of the Lao people. The event is an opportunity for women entrepreneurs and restaurant owners across the country to display and sell their products and ensure they are made widely known and accessible to more clients. 
In addition, the festival is an opportunity for young women who are talented cooks to display and sell their food, and to serve more foreign visitors. 
Lao food is a matter of great pride for Lao people, in the same way that Beerlao is very popular with people both in Laos and other countries.

The Lao Brewery Company Ltd. has always been associated with efforts to promote the uniqueness of the food, culture and traditions that are the pride of the Lao people.
Of course, all of the food served is attractively presented and exceedingly tasty, while many diners will also have a drink to accompany their snack or meal. Laos is renowned for beverages, especially Beerlao, which is the pride of the Lao people and has become deservedly popular worldwide.
Foreign visitors to Laos always drink Beerlao together with Lao food, which go well together, and some even take Lao food products and Beerlao back home with them.
