International School of Laos holds its 6th Annual Culture Day

The International School of Laos recently celebrated its 6th Annual Culture Day, which showcased the cultures of more than 20 Lao ethnic groups.
The event serves to promote cultural diversity by raising awareness of different cultural traits and brings together the diverse arts, delicacies and cultural activities of the selected country(ies).

The occasion celebrates differences, as well as common interests, helping the community to unite and understand the many different perspectives of the world in which we live.
Honoured guests at this year’s event included Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Dr Sisouk Vongvichith; Deputy Head of the Vientiane Department of Education and

Sports, Mr Bounthan Sengmany; and Head of the Xaysettha Education Office, Mr Phommy Xayyasanh.
Miss Beauty Power Laos 2022 title holders and the President of Miss BeautyPower Laos Sole Co., Ltd., Mr Amphayvanh Souphanthone, were special guests.
This year’s ISL Culture Day aimed to foster appreciation and support of the artistic and cultural life lived, created and expressed by the different ethnic groups in Laos.
The event highlighted not only the richness of Lao ethnic groups’ cultures but also the essential role of intercultural exchange in achieving awareness, preservation and sustainable development.
Over the years, the International School of Laos Annual Culture Day has celebrated the cultures of more than 20 countries, including the ethnicities of their students, faculty and staff.

The school’s Principal, Mr Ulvi Shirinov, said “It is the International School of Laos’ mission to promote peace, love, and cultural encounters here in Laos. ISL Culture Day is an annual tradition that everyone looks forward to. It is an opportunity for the community to celebrate the diversity that exists within us.”
