Memorandum of Understanding between Asian Institute of Technology and UniqTek Co., Ltd

UniqTeK Co., Ltd. (UNIQTEK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on December 5 to enable cooperation in knowledge transfer and technical support activities in the field of Geomatics Technology.
The activities under the scope of the MOU include collaboration in research on innovative technologies and solutions related to geomatics; development of international training and capacity building programmes and their joint implementation; development of institutional capacity in Laos through seminars, trainings, exchange programmes; collaboration in securing joint international projects; and development of businesses in areas of mutual interest.

Director of the Geoinformatics Centre at AIT, Dr Manzul Kumar Hazarika, stressed that AIT’s mission is to develop highly qualified and committed professionals who will play a leading role in the sustainable development of the region and its integration into the global economy.
“AIT is an international institute of higher learning. It is Asia’s pioneer institution, established in 1959 to help meet the region’s growing need for advanced learning in engineering, science, technology and management, research, and capacity building,” he said.
Managing Director of UNIQTEK, Mr Chandavong Southitham, expressed his pleasure at the collaboration.
UNIQTEK is a leading company in Laos specialising in Geographical information Systems, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Solutions, Survey Technology, GIS, Hydro-Met Solutions, Environmental Products and Electrical Engineering.
UNIQTEK was established in 2014 and was built on the foundation of proving excellence to its market and customers.
The company is driven by its motto “Striving to be the most reliable business partner” and treating its clients as business partners.
This means that the very foundation of its existence is to help its partners succeed in their business and goals.
In addition, the collaboration between AIT and UNIQTEK, particularly in Geomatics Technology and related fields, will serve as a link between educational institutions in Laos for knowledge transfer and institutional capacity building.
The Memorandum of Understanding is effective from the date of signing by both parties up to a period of five (5) years and may be subject to extensions by mutual consent of the parties in writing.
