Laos to get 1 mn doses of Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday

One million doses of the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine are set to reach Laos on July 15, giving a boost to the government’s efforts to protect people from the Covid-19.
The vaccines are being provided via the COVAX facility, a global initiative that distributes Covid-19 shots to low- and middle-income countries. The COVAX programme is led by the World Health Organisation and the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI).
The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Sanong Thongsana, confirmed to the local media that the vaccines are coming soon, but didnt specify a date.
A source at the ministry told Vientiane Times that the vaccines are scheduled to reach Vientiane on Thursday.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
