Ministry outlines procedures for entry to Laos during Covid outbreak

Everyone wishing to enter Laos must take an RT-PCR test within 72 hours prior to arrival and provide proof of Covid vaccination status, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Covid taskforce announced on March 17.
Embassy staff and members of international organisations under the auspices of the United Nations wishing to enter Laos must submit a request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerning travel to Laos.
Lao ministries wishing to bring foreign experts, students and volunteers should follow the same procedure as  embassies and international organisations.
Members of international non-governmental organisations wishing to enter Laos must register to get a QR code (vaccine ID) online at ‘laogreenpass.gov.la’ to certify their vaccination status and submit a request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enter Laos.
Businesses wishing to bring in investors or operatives to sign agreements and Memorandums of Understanding should follow the same rules as international non-governmental organisations.
Lao nationals assisting citizens of other countries to come to Laos should submit a request to the Lao embassy in the country concerned, while the individual wishing to travel to Laos must register to get a QR code at laogreenpass.gov.la and then submit a request to the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs to get permission to enter Laos.
Everyone arriving in Laos must have a RT-PCR test and quarantine for 48 hours while awaiting the test results.
They must download the LaoStaySafe app to use Lao SuSu to facilitate travel to other places. This does not apply to embassy staff and members of international organisations under the auspices of the United Nations who benefit from  diplomatic privileges in this respect.
People in Laos who wish to travel to other countries can inform immigration officers without needing authorisation from the Covid taskforce, but must have the necessary  documents for travel to their destination country. For more information visit www.facebok.com/laokyc
