Party Secretary General Thongloun Sisoulith has instructed the Party Central Committee’s Organisational-Personnel Committee (PCC-OC) to carry out its work more effectively, strengthening Party organisations at all levels.
Mr Thongloun gave the advice when speaking at the handover of the post of the Head of the PCC-OC from Mr Chansy Phosikham to Ms Sisay Leudethmounsone.

Ms Sisay, who is Vice President of the National Assembly and recently became a member of the Politburo, has been appointed Head of the PCC-OC to replace Mr Chansy, who has held the post for the past five years and will now retire.
Mr Thongloun praised the outstanding achievements of Mr Chansy in carrying out his duties, which he said had contributed to the revolutionary mission as well as to national defence and deployment.
His efforts had helped to improve the Party’s statute and other regulations concerning the Party and its personnel, along with the appointment and transfer of core officials under the Party Central Committee’s supervision.
Mr Thongloun said Mr Chansy’s achievements were numerous and too many to mention, saying that other Party members should take note of his actions as refer to them as a model.
He suggested that Mr Chansy continue to make recommendations concerning the work of the Party.
Secretary General Thongloun called on Ms Sisay to shoulder more responsibility in fulfilling the duties of her new post alongside her colleagues in the Party Committee of PCC-OC.
These duties involve fulfilling the resolution adopted by the Party’s Eleventh Congress by deepening its translation in the improvement of the Party and government’s structure and Party and personnel development, which should focus on helping enlightened and progressive individuals to gain Party membership.
Concerning the improvement of Party organisations at every level, Mr Thongloun said this should be done in a decisive and transparent manner. It was especially important that leadership be strengthened, especially with the Party units of state-owned enterprises.
He also referred to the evaluation of Party organisations at all levels, saying mutual evaluations should be constructive and problems should be analysed so that appropriate solutions could be discussed.
Prior to taking up her new post with the Party Central Committee, Ms Sisay Leudethmounsone was President of Champassak province’s Women’s Union, a member of the National Assembly, President of the Lao Women’s Union, and is currently Vice President of the National Assembly.
