Tether, Bitqik collaborate in stablecoin education in Laos
7 January 2026 Tether, the world’s largest company in the digital asset industry, on Monday partnered with Bitqik, a licensed digital asset exchange in Laos, to boost financial literacy around Bitcoin and stablecoins in Laos.
The collaboration aims to expand public understanding of blockchain technology and digital finance, with a particular focus on USD₮, Tether’s flagship stablecoin, and its role in supporting financial inclusion, remittances and cryptocurrency investment in Laos.
The initiative aims to educate more than 10,000 people during 2026 through a combination of in-person events and online learning, while strengthening USD₮’s position as the most widely used stablecoin in the Lao market.
Bitqik, a locally licensed exchange providing brokerage and trading services for cryptocurrencies and other digital assets, said the initiative aligns with its mission to make digital assets accessible, secure and easy to use.
The two companies share the view that decentralised digital currencies can help reshape the global economy by driving innovation, efficiency, and greater financial freedom.
Under the partnership, Bitqik will lead education and outreach activities to raise awareness of stablecoins and their practical use cases. The initiative is designed to build trust and confidence in stablecoins while positioning USD₮ as a key enabler of digital finance in the Lao market, encouraging wider adoption among communities, students and business operators.
As part of the programme, Bitqik will host quarterly educational events in major towns, including Vientiane, Pakse, Vangvieng and Luang Prabang. The events will focus on stablecoins and cryptocurrency trading, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to engage in the digital economy.
In addition, Bitqik will develop online educational content for students and promote informed use of digital assets through seminars and roadshows.
Chief Executive Officer of Tether, Paolo Ardoino, said “We are always very excited about opportunities to collaborate with great minds in various regions to bring financial education and promote the informed use of digital assets.”
“The world of cryptocurrency is constantly evolving, and we want this opportunity to be available to everyone, everywhere, in the right way. That is why we are working with companies like Bitqik to bridge the gap by providing the valuable insights people need to participate actively in the digital economy.”
Chief Executive Officer of Bitqik, Virasack Viravong, said the partnership would help broaden access to digital assets for Lao users.
“Bitqik is very pleased to collaborate with Tether, a world-leading company in the digital asset industry,” he said. “On the Bitqik Exchange, users can trade and convert between crypto and fiat currencies, primarily using USD₮. In addition, the Bitqik Academy will organise activities to educate the Lao community on blockchain technology and digital assets, including Bitcoin investment and the use of stablecoins, especially USD₮.”
Tether is a pioneer in stablecoin technology, focused on building accessible, secure and efficient financial infrastructure.
As the issuer of the world’s largest and most liquid stablecoin, the company aims to foster financial inclusion, support economic growth, and empower individuals and businesses, particularly in underserved communities.
By leveraging blockchain and peer-to-peer technologies, Tether seeks to bridge the gap between traditional financial systems and decentralised finance, supporting the development of sustainable and resilient digital infrastructure.
