Phu Bia Mining (PBM) is pleased to announce a payment to the provincial government of more than US$14 million at an event held at the  Xaysomboun Provincial Administration Office on January 7, 2026.
The payment comprises US$7million in advance profit tax for the last 6 months of 2025 as well as US$7.1million in royalties for December 2025.
This is just one of the many payments PBM makes to the Xaysomboun Provincial Administration Office at regular agreed intervals during each year of our operations.
Earlier last year, in July, the first six months’ advance profit tax of US$6million was paid. Also, after the comprehensive audit is complete for the 2025 profit tax, another significant payment will be remitted to the Xaysomboun Provincial Administration Office at the end of March 2026 once the annual audit is complete. The royalty payment to the government at the year to date is more than US$35 million for 2025.
Vice President of the Provincial Administration, Dr Thongpaseuth Sayyalath, said the revenue from Phu Bia Mining to XSB is more than 80 percent of the province’s total annual revenue, which is vital for socio-economic development to Xaysomboun.
Principal Government Advisor, Mr Chanpheng Bounnaphol, said the Company’s strong performance in 2025 reflected the depth and resilience of its relationships across the business, stating “PBM’s success is built on the strength of its relationships with the Xaysomboun Provincial  Administration Office, our host communities, employees, suppliers, peers and partners.”
Manilath Arounlangsy, Senior Manager External Affairs, Phu Bia Mining, noted that trust, transparency and consistent communication underpinned those relationships and would remain central to the company’s approach. Explaining “This critically important relationship between the Xaysomboun Provincial  Administration Office and Phu Bia Mining is founded on trust and open, consistent communication. This is what drives PBM’s success and growth and will continue to guide our focus through 2026.”
