21st Lao Food Festival showcases national flavours at Chao Anouvong Park
The 21st edition of the Lao Food Festival is once again bring the rich and diverse flavours of Lao cuisine to the capital from January 26-30, transforming Chao Anouvong Park into a vibrant celebration of food, culture and national identity.
Held under the theme “Discover Laos Through Its Taste”, the five-day festival is one of the country’s most anticipated cultural events, highlighting culinary traditions from across Laos.
This year’s edition features more than 180 booths, showcasing regional specialties, traditional dishes, local agricultural products, handicrafts, and community-based brands from north to south of the country.
The festival continues to benefit from a long-standing partnership with the Lao Brewery Company (LBC), which returns as a strategic partner and sponsor of the 21st edition. Through its continued support, LBC reaffirms its commitment to preserving Lao food culture and supporting local communities.
Visitors can expect a culinary journey along the Mekong River, sampling iconic Lao dishes and popular street food while enjoying the lively atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the annual event.
No Lao food celebration is complete without its most iconic pairing. Beerlao, deeply rooted in Lao dining culture, is known for complementing a wide range of Lao dishes and enhancing the shared experience around the table.
Through its involvement, LBC continues to position Beerlao not just as a beverage, but as part of everyday Lao food culture, ensuring the perfect pairing for every taste throughout the festival.
One of the highlights of this year’s festival is the Beerlao booth, offering more than just food and refreshments.
Visitors aged 18 and above will be invited to take part in interactive games designed to test their knowledge of Beerlao, adding an element of fun and friendly competition to the festivities, with prizes available for participants.
Beyond its culinary appeal, the Lao Food Festival serves as a platform for celebrating cultural heritage and national pride. The event especially highlights the important role of women in preserving traditional recipes, promoting local ingredients, and driving entrepreneurship within the food sector.
