PM sends condolences over passing of former Korean Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has sent a message of condolence to his Korean counterpart following the death of a former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea.
The message read “I am deeply saddened by the passing of His Excellency Lee Hae-chan, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, on 25 January 2026. On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and on my own behalf, I extend my heartfelt condolences and express my deepest sympathy with Your Excellency, the Government of the Republic of Korea, and the family of His Excellency Lee Hae-chan on this sad occasion.
“May the soul of His Excellency Lee Hae-chan rest in eternal peace.
“With greatest respects.”
