Joint Development Bank celebrates 35th anniversary of outstanding achievements

The Joint Development Bank (JDB) has underscored its great achievements of more than three decades of serving society by marking its 35th anniversary.
The celebration took place in Vientiane on January 31, attended by the Chairman of the JDB Shareholders’ Committee, Mr Ekaphanh Phapithack, the board of directors, senior management and staff, along with government officials, customers and business partners from China, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand.

The celebration is of great significance. It summarised business operations in 2024 and celebrated the 35th anniversary of JDB, which has succeeded in becoming a prototype bank in modern business management, a digital banking bank where people around the world can access services and enjoy JDB’s new and outstanding changes.
JDB has recorded continuous business growth and a 49-fold increase in total assets compared to 2012.
During the event, JDB also launched a new service “JDB Biomatric” that will help customers open accounts conveniently and with high security. Whether customers are domestic or international, they can open a savings account with JDB themselves without having to go to a bank.
Speaking at the 35th anniversary event, the Chairman of the JDB Shareholders’ Committee, Mr Ekaphanh Phapithack, said “Tonight’s celebration is a milestone to review last year’s work performance and reflect our journey and achievements over the past 35 years. Allow me to highlight some of our key accomplishments. JDB has reached this significant 35-year milestone – a journey of great meaning and importance for us all. We have established ourselves as a model of modern and successful banking management.
JDB has successfully transformed into a Digital Banking institution, making our services easily accessible to people worldwide; JDB has integrated with the international banking system, positioning itself as a global transaction hub; and JDB has made remarkable achievements with continuous growth as a bank of the Lao PDR.”

During the event, a grand prize distribution was held for JDB customers with many prizes on offer, such as 15 baht of gold, 5 BYD electric cars, a Toyota Fortuner, and many other prizes.
