Lao Telecommunications Public Company Limited invests US$17.78 million in 2025

Lao Telecommunications Public Company Limited (Lao Telecom) invested US$17.78 million in 2025 to expand its telecommunications network, aiming to improve service quality and nationwide coverage.
The investment figure was reported at the company’s annual summary meeting on work completed last year, held on February 20 at the company’s headquarters. The meeting also outlined plans for 2026.

Deputy Director General of Lao Telecommunications Public Company Limited, Mr Alounnadeth Barnchit, gave a summary of business operations in 2025 and outlined the plan of work for 2026. He highlighted several outstanding achievements last year, including investment in expanding the telecommunications network.
The meeting was chaired by the Managing Director of Lao Telecommunications Public Company Limited, Mr Souphol Chanthavixay, and attended by the Minister of Technology and Communications, Dr Santisouk Simmalavong, along with invited guests and representatives from the company’s headquarters, provincial branches nationwide, T-Plus Company, and Lao Mobile Money Company Limited, with a total of 274 participants.
Mr Alounnadeth Barnchit said that currently, the company operates 2G, 3G, 4G and 4.5G mobile stations covering populated areas across the country. It also provides 5G services in major cities and FTTH services nationwide.
These developments have become key factors in helping Lao Telecom expand its customer base while maintaining existing customers. To date, more than 3.1 million customers are using the company’s Mobile Broadband (MBB) and Fixed Broadband (FBB) services.
In 2025, the company earned total revenue of 2,489.35 billion kip (excluding taxes) and paid 586.16 billion kip in taxes and fees to the government. In addition, it improved regulations and social welfare policies to continuously enhance the living standards of its employees.
Alongside its business operations, the company contributed more than 6.62 billion kip in support to Party and State organisations, social activities, education, and the 12th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. It also provided more equipment and internet connectivity for distance learning and remote meetings for Party and State organisations, worth 11.5 billion kip.

n 2026, Lao Telecom aims to maintain its existing customer base while creating new customer segments, generate additional revenue of more than 2,600 billion kip, and fulfill government obligations of more than 590 billion kip.
The company will also invest millions of US dollars to further improve and expand its telecommunications service network, especially Mobile Broadband, Fixed Broadband and digital platforms, to ensure high-level customer service in terms of both quantity and quality, secure data, and a modern system to support social services.
These efforts are aimed at fulfilling its plan and vision to advance to the Lao Digital Life era, in line with the company’s motto “Telecommunications for the Lao people, for Lao society – We are Family”.
