The projects, delivered in Kengkerk and Nakasin villages on June 2, were funded by LXML and implemented with support from local residents, reflecting the company’s efforts to contribute to community development in areas surrounding its Sepon Gold and Copper Mine.
The projects have a combined value of 288.33 million kip and include the construction of a new fence at Phadang Primary School, repairs to a 205-metre fence at Nakasin Primary School, and the installation of a gravity-fed water supply system in Nakasin village.
The education-related projects were designed to improve safety and security within school grounds, while creating an environment more conducive for learning.

In addition to the school infrastructure upgrades, LXML supported the installation of a gravity-fed water system in Nakasin village. The project included the construction of a 1,800-metre gravity-fed water pipeline and a 21,600-litre storage tank, providing improved access to clean water for students and villagers.
The new system is expected to support daily household needs and contribute to better sanitation and living conditions in the village.
The projects were developed in consultation with local communities to address priority needs identified by residents and local authorities.
The hand-over underscores LXML’s continued engagement in community development initiatives in Vilabouly district, where its mining operations are located.
Through collaboration with local stakeholders, the company aims to support improvements in education, public infrastructure and quality of life for nearby communities.
LXML operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Mine in Savannakhet province and has implemented a range of community development programmes focused on education, health, infrastructure, livelihoods and access to basic services in surrounding areas.
