Inter Transport supports landmark Laos-Cambodia agricultural trade route via Laos-China Railway
Inter Transport Co., Ltd. is playing a central role in a new cross-border agricultural trade initiative linking Laos, Cambodia and China, following the official launch of export and transshipment operations for agricultural products between Laos and Cambodia.
The launch ceremony took place in Vientiane on June 22 and was co-chaired by Minister of Agriculture and Environment Dr Linkham Douangsavanh and Cambodia’s Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Dith Tina.

The event marked what officials and business operators described as an important step in strengthening agricultural trade cooperation between the two neighbouring countries, while also creating a new logistics route connecting Cambodian farm produce with the Chinese market through Laos.
Inter Transport Co., Ltd. has been entrusted to serve as the core logistics partner for the operation, providing integrated transport and transshipment services covering customs clearance, documentation management, and cross-border compliance.
As part of the launch, the company managed the transshipment of three temperature-controlled reefer containers carrying fresh durian from Cambodia to Laos by road. The containers were then transferred to the Laos-China Railway for onward shipment to Kunming in China.
At the same time, Inter Transport Co., Ltd. also handled outbound logistics for the export of premium sticky rice from Laos to Cambodia, highlighting the growing two-way potential of agricultural trade between the two countries.
The operation is seen as a practical example of how Laos’ expanding transport infrastructure, particularly the Laos-China Railway and dry port facilities, can support regional supply chains and create more efficient trade links for agricultural products.
For perishable produce such as fresh fruit, cold-chain management and efficient customs procedures are key to maintaining quality and reducing delays. Inter Transport Co., Ltd. said it has positioned itself to support these requirements through specialised refrigerated cargo handling and end-to-end logistics services.

The company, headquartered in Savannakhet, has expanded its operations through branches in Vientiane, Khammuan, Bokeo and Luang Namtha provinces, enabling it to serve major trade gateways and border checkpoints across Laos.
Inter Transport Co., Ltd. specialises in international logistics and supply chain solutions, with services ranging from customs clearance to cold-chain transport. The company is particularly recognised for its handling of reefer containers, which require strict temperature control to preserve perishable goods during cross-border transport.
With teams operating at key international checkpoints and along major transport corridors, the company says it is working to strengthen Laos’ role as a regional logistics hub and to support the movement of agricultural goods across ASEAN and onward to larger markets.
The launch at Thanaleng Dry Port is expected to further reinforce trade links between Laos and Cambodia while opening up additional opportunities for agricultural exports moving through Laos to China.
