Café Amazon app delivers new digital experience
Café Amazon Laos has launched a new mobile app to give customers easier access to rewards, promotions and services through one digital platform.
The launch of the “Café Amazon Laos” app marks a new step in PTT (Lao) Co., Ltd.’s digital customer service strategy.
Available on the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices, the app allows customers to register as members, collect points with purchases, and redeem rewards at Café Amazon branches nationwide.
The official launch ceremony took place on August 8 at the PTT Station, Phontong branch. The milestone event was attended by the Managing Director of PTT (Lao) Co., Ltd., Mr. Peravej Na Ranong; the Deputy Managing Director of Lifestyle Business Amazon, Mr. Chansavang Sikhampheng; and other senior executives.
To mark the 8.8 launch, the first 10,000 customers who register as new members can redeem one free cold beverage of their choice. Other new members will receive 15 points as a starting bonus.
The reward programme is designed to give regular customers more value from their daily coffee purchases. Members earn one point for every 15,000 kip spent at any Café Amazon branch by presenting their digital membership before payment.
Points can be exchanged for drinks under three reward levels. Customers can use 100 points for one hot beverage, 150 points for one cold beverage, or 200 points for one frappe.
The app is designed to make everyday visits to Café Amazon more rewarding and convenient, while creating a direct channel between the brand and its customers.
Managing Director of PTT (Lao) Co., Ltd., Mr Peravej Na Ranong, said the company is moving towards a business model driven by digital technology as mobile phones become an essential part of daily life.
“We have long used this type of application in Thailand through the Blue Plus app, which helps us communicate with customers and build closer relationships with them,” he said.

The new Café Amazon app brings this approach to Laos, starting with a digital membership and rewards programme.
Customers can collect points when they purchase Café Amazon products and later use the points to redeem rewards. The membership programme has three levels – Green, Gold and Diamond – with different benefits at each level.
Mr Peravej said the app offers three main principles: benefits, convenience and direct communication with customers.
Customers can use the app to find Café Amazon outlets across Laos. The brand currently has 116 branches nationwide and plans to expand further as demand grows.
The company also sees the app as a way to support its wider business network. At present, points can be earned through Café Amazon purchases, but PTT Laos plans to connect its other businesses to the same rewards system in the future.
This could allow customers to earn points through activities such as buying coffee, refuelling vehicles, using laundry services or other services at PTT locations.
Deputy Managing Director of Lifestyle Business, Mr Chansavang Sikhampheng, said the Café Amazon app represents the first phase of PTT Laos’ digitalisation strategy.
“Today we are starting with the coffee app, but in the future we will develop an app that becomes a complete lifestyle hub for use within PTT stations,” he said.

PTT Laos is expanding its business beyond fuel and coffee. Its lifestyle portfolio already includes Otteri Wash & Dry laundromats, while the company plans to develop restaurants, accommodation and other services.
Under the planned rewards system, customers could eventually earn points from a range of services and use them across the PTT network.
Mr Chansavang said Café Amazon was chosen as the starting point because coffee is an everyday purchase, allowing the company to understand customer behaviour and improve the system before connecting other businesses.
The company also plans to create places where customers can spend more time rather than simply stop to refuel or buy coffee.
One such plan is a PTT Community Mall, which is expected to open this year or next year.
Unlike a traditional fuel station, the planned site will not have fuel pumps. Instead, it will bring together a Café Amazon shop, restaurants, an oil-change service, a gym, a co-working space and electric vehicle charging facilities.
Mr Chansavang said the aim is to create a community space where customers can meet, work, eat and enjoy different services in one place.
For Café Amazon customers, the new app is therefore more than a way to collect points. It is the first step towards a wider digital service that PTT Laos hopes will connect its growing range of businesses.
The company also plans to support the growth of its Café Amazon network by using Lao coffee beans and creating employment opportunities for Lao people.
As the app develops, customers can expect more services and rewards to be added, bringing the different parts of the PTT Laos business network closer together through one digital platform.
