Sixteen graduates receive certificates after completing the inaugural edition of the Leadership Essentials in Action Programme (LEAP).

Growing leaders from within: LXML celebrates inaugural LEAP graduates

Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) recently celebrated the graduation of the inaugural cohort of its Leadership Essentials in Action Programme (LEAP), recognising 16 graduates for their commitment to developing their leadership capability.
Developed in partnership with Katalyst Partners, the LEAP programme is designed to strengthen leadership capability across LXML Sepon by combining practical leadership development with workplace application.

Throughout the programme, participants completed interactive workshops, received mentoring and coaching, and applied their learning through workplace improvement projects within their departments.
The graduation ceremony brought together participants, senior leaders, mentors and facilitators to celebrate the graduates’ achievements and recognise the important role leadership plays in building capable teams and driving continuous improvement across LXML.
Speaking at the event, the Vice General Manager (Maintenance), Mr Andrew Brown, reinforced the importance of developing leaders at every level of the organisation.
“As our business continues to grow and evolve, so too must our people. Programmes like LEAP are an investment in our future, helping to develop leaders who are adaptable, who think critically, and who are prepared to lead positive change across our organisation.”
The ceremony acknowledged the valuable contribution of the programme’s four mentors, whose guidance and encouragement supported participants throughout their leadership journey.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of two leadership project awards, recognising participants who demonstrated outstanding leadership through their workplace improvement initiatives.
The Coreyard Supervisor from Mine Technical Services, Inthong Phewsouphan, received the Best Safety Impact Award for leading a positive shift in team safety behaviours by improving accountability and engagement in the use of personal protective equipment.
The Best Operational Impact Award was presented to the Lead Administrator from Site Engineering and Planning, Salardkham Linkeo, for improving the onboarding of shutdown contractors through better resource planning, cross-training and more effective utilisation of the team.
For many participants, presenting their workplace improvement projects to members of the Executive Leadership Team was a significant milestone, helping to build confidence in communicating ideas, influencing others and demonstrating leadership in practice.
Following the success of the inaugural programme, LXML is committed to continue its investment in leadership development, with the next LEAP cohort scheduled to commence in October.
