Lao PDR Clean Energy Day 2026 to promote nation’s energy transition
Policymakers, industry leaders and development partners will gather in Vientiane on September 3 for Clean Energy Day 2026, an event aimed at promoting dialogue and cooperation on the future of clean energy in Laos.
The event will explore key issues shaping Laos’ energy transition, including renewable energy development, clean energy investment and regional energy connectivity.
Clean Energy Day 2026 is being organised by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in partnership with EnergyLab Asia, with support from Australia through the Mekong-Australia Partnership (MAP) to advance sustainable economic development and energy sector cooperation in Laos.
Building discussions from last year’s event on green investment opportunities, solar and wind power expansion, and cross-border energy connectivity, this year’s gathering aims to advance practical solutions for accelerating clean energy development in Laos.
Representatives of the government, the energy sector, development partners and the private sector will discuss opportunities and challenges in supporting Laos’ transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy system.
The organisers said the event will build on momentum from previous discussions, strengthen cooperation among stakeholders and identify practical pathways for expanding clean energy investment and development in Laos.
