Lao President makes state visit to Kazakhstan
Laos and Kazakhstan are seeking to further strengthen their traditional friendship and cooperation through a state visit by a high-level Lao delegation led by President Thongloun Sisoulith.
President Thongloun and his delegation arrived in Astana on September 2 for the state visit, which aims to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two countries.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos, President Thongloun led a high-level Lao delegation for the state visit during September 3-4 at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan.
On his arrival in the Kazakh capital, President Thongloun and his delegation were welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, Mr Zhaslan Madiyev. Senior officials and representatives of both sides were also present.
The visit was expected to contribute to further strengthening and deepening the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between Laos and Kazakhstan, while also providing an opportunity to enhance bilateral relations in the years ahead.
The state visit reflected the continued efforts of the two countries to promote closer relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
