JORAKAY Tiler X Season 2 to promote skills of Lao tilers to global standards
Vientiane, Lao PDR – Jorakay Corporation Co., Ltd., a leading provider of tiling innovations and comprehensive construction solutions, will bring its regional tiling skills development programme, “JORAKAY Tiler X Season 2: The Next X-Tiler Craftsman Championship,” to Lao PDR on September 12, providing local tilers with an opportunity to enhance their skills and learn modern construction practices based on international standards.
The Lao PDR leg, which will also serve as the season finale, will be held at Amari Vientiane Hotel in Vientiane under the theme “From Local Talent to Global Standard.” The event aims to provide local craftspeople with a platform to demonstrate their abilities, develop their technical skills and gain practical knowledge that can be applied to real construction projects.
The second season builds on the success of the inaugural JORAKAY Tiler X programme, which demonstrated that craftspeople across the region can improve their skills, work quality and professional credibility when they have access to appropriate knowledge, standards-compliant products and opportunities to test their abilities against professional benchmarks.
Jorakay Corporation is extending the programme to a new generation of Lao tilers as part of its efforts to share practical knowledge and create opportunities for local craftspeople to develop alongside the changing requirements of the modern construction industry.
The Lao PDR competition will feature a simulated real-world challenge focusing on bathroom and wet-area spaces. Competitors will be required to demonstrate their understanding of the entire installation process, from surface preparation and waterproofing systems to tile planning and alignment, the selection of tile adhesives and related products, and the precision of the finished work.
The competitors will be assessed on technical skills, precision, speed, safety and time management. They will also receive practical advice and technical guidance from JORAKAY Expert specialists, allowing them to apply the knowledge gained to actual construction projects.
Mr Norawee Sershthin, Chief Global Business Officer (CGBO) of Jorakay Corporation Co., Ltd., said JORAKAY Tiler X was more than a competition to identify outstanding craftspeople, describing it as an important platform for raising professional standards and creating development opportunities for tilers across the region.
“We believe that construction quality begins with knowledgeable and skilled people, supported by the use of standards-compliant products. Our move into Season 2 and the staging of the season’s final competition in Lao PDR reflect Jorakay Corporation’s commitment to developing both innovation and people, and to helping build a construction ecosystem that is safe, high-quality, and sustainable,” he said.
In addition to promoting craftsmanship, JORAKAY Tiler X Season 2 will showcase construction innovations focusing on quality, performance, safety and environmental responsibility, reinforcing the company’s positioning as “Jorakay – The Green Expert in Construction Solutions.”

The event will also promote greater awareness of the importance of using genuine and standards-compliant JORAKAY products, particularly in bathrooms and wet areas, where proper adhesion, waterproofing, safety and long-term durability are essential to construction quality.
The programme is also designed to bring together tilers, distributors, contractors and industry partners, creating opportunities for them to share knowledge and collectively contribute to higher installation standards and the development of Lao PDR’s skilled workforce.
According to Jorakay Corporation, its role in the market extends beyond providing construction products and solutions, with the company also placing emphasis on continuous investment in people and partner networks in the markets where it operates.
The Lao PDR leg will conclude the three-country JORAKAY Tiler X Season 2 series, following competitions held in Yangon, Myanmar, on August 1 and Hanoi, Vietnam, on August 15.
Through the conclusion of the series in Vientiane, Jorakay Corporation aims to take another step towards strengthening craftsmanship, expanding partner networks and promoting higher construction-industry standards across the region, with a focus on safer, higher-quality and more sustainable development.
