Joint Development Bank, APDL sign MOU on funding for solar farm

Joint Development Bank Publ ic Company (JDB) and Alpha Power Development (Lao) Sole Co., Ltd. (APDL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on partnership in financing the development of a solar power project.
The agreement was signed at JDB’s head office in Vientiane on Monday, 14 September 2026, by Ms Khonesavanh Vixathep, Managing Director of JDB, and Mr Phengxiong Tongnamavong, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Alpha Power Development (Lao) Sole Co., Ltd.
Under the chairmanship of Mr Sounthorn Chanthavong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Joint Development Bank, and Mr Kumpon Suangburanakul, Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Divisions Public Company Limited, senior executive management from both parties attended as witnesses and expressed their strong support.
Pursuant to the MOU, the two parties will establish a financial cooperation framework to support funding for the development of the solar power project.
The partnership is intended to promote investment in renewable energy and contribute to the expansion of clean energy in Laos, while supporting sustainable development in the country’s energy sector.
The agreement is a step towards closer cooperation between the banking and energy sectors in supporting renewable energy development and mobilising fi nancing for solar power projects.
