ALACE EXPO 2025 showcases innovation in architecture, civil engineering

The Association of Lao Architects and Civil Engineers (ALACE) EXPO 2025 is underway to provide a forum for Lao architects and civil engineers to bolster their professionalism through informed discussions.
The exhibition opened on Tuesday at the Lao ITECC in Vientiane, hosted by ALACE in cooperation with government and private partners.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, Minister of Public Works and Transport Mr Leklai Sivilay, other government officials and representatives of the private sector.
The exhibition will run for seven days from October 20-26, featuring 180 booths set up by 80 companies and nine cooperation partners of ALACE to display their products, the President of ALACE, Mr Vongphai Bounmanee, said during the opening ceremony.

The products on display feature innovations in architecture, engineering and building materials, both Lao and international.
The exhibition aims to showcase achievements in the fields of architecture and civil engineering, Mr Vongphai said.
The event is also a platform for sharing information, building networks, presenting innovations and driving new development opportunities in business, innovation and collaboration to continuously promote the sector, he added.
The ALACE EXPO 2025 takes the theme “Living Forward”, which reflects the evolution of “housing” in Laos from the past, present, and continuing into the future.
The exhibition enables visitors to learn about the evolution of architecture and construction in Laos, from the wisdom of designing and building traditional houses with cultural value to the development and improvement of residential buildings with contemporary shapes and features that meet the diverse living needs of society with quality, Mr Vongphai said.
The ALACE EXPO brings professionals together to learn and inspire the development of Lao architecture and engineering in a meaningful direction in the Living Forward space.
The Living Movement platform enables the sharing of technical opinions and the presentation of new innovations that offer solutions to the challenges faced by Lao architects and engineers in creating “future homes” that are not only beautiful and modern but also reflect the spirit of Laos and can truly improve people’s quality of life, Mr Vongphai said.
In addition, ALACE is organising the ALACE AWARD competition, which for the first time will be awarded to honour architects and civil engineers who have created outstanding projects for society in four award categories, namely Best National Architecture, Best National Thesis, Best Building, and Design Excellence.
Also speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Leklai urged ALACE to ensure that Lao architects and engineers become strong, competent, and internationally competitive through the professional association and in close cooperation with Lao and international partners.
