President urges young people to study hard, embrace new technology

President Thongloun Sisoulith has called on young people to study hard, develop good morals, and use modern technology to help build a prosperous and united nation.
The President met with children and young people from across the country on Wednesday, following the 6th National Youth Camp held in Vientiane on November 10-11.
He urged them to focus on learning, self-discipline, and moral development, so they grow up to become knowledgeable and capable citizens who can contribute to national development.
“Children and young people should follow a path that teaches them to be wise, happy and responsible, so they can become valuable human resources for Laos,” he said.
President Thongloun highlighted the importance of national pride, solidarity among ethnic groups, and the preservation of Lao culture and traditional customs.
He encouraged young people to foster unity within their families, schools, and communities, and to build friendships with young people in other countries.
He also advised them to steer clear of drugs, gambling, and improper online behaviour, and to remain cautious of deceitful influences.
Looking to the future, the President urged the youngsters to learn about artificial intelligence and modern science, so they are able to become a driving force of development.
“Children must learn how to create and use artificial intelligence systems effectively to serve the nation,” he said.
He also offered his blessing to all participants, wishing them good health and success in their studies, and encouraging them to be “golden children” who make their parents, teachers, and country proud.
